Look at that. Not the man, look around him. The podium, the lights, the graphics, the sheer volume of the music. Is this the fucking DNC, or the fucking VMAs? I was half expecting Flavor Flav to come out with LL JefferClint and serve as hype man.

Cuts like a knife
So I’m getting surgery on my knee this Friday. Aside from having my wisdom teeth removed, I’ve never been under the knife. The doctor says it’s a simple procedure, but nothing about “go in, shave off the torn part of your MCL, clean out the scar tissue, and close it up” sounds simple to me. I think mainly because that will be happening in my body.

Oh, also, on the original, the audio looped, over and over. I used to set that page on my computer, lock it, and hide my speakers before I left. They hated that.

As an procrastinator and perfectionist, I am only now getting good, actual headshots, 5 years after I started doing stand-up, and 3 years since I’ve moved to New York.
Any good advice on where to look for auditions? And how do you temper that with your dayjob? If you duck out for an audition, how long does it usually take, sans subway travel? How many do you wind up going on in a week? ...
